DPM Ishaq Dar visits the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5 April, 2026) Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that the immortal Sufi teachings of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (Ali bin Othman Al Hujwiri, may God be pleased with him), convey the message of peace, tolerance and spiritual enlightenment.

He said this during his visit to the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh here on Sunday.

He was warmly welcomed by Punjab Waqf Secretary Dr. Ehsan Bhutta and Data Director Darbar Muhammad Ali Khan.

Ishaq Dar said: The place is in it Lahore It stands as a shining beacon of spiritual guidance, visited by millions of devotees every year.

Dr. Ihsan Bhuta gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing expansion and renovation project of the shrine.

The project includes the construction of a front yard, the installation of modern automated awnings, the demolition of more than four kanals of land, and the acquisition of 17 kanals of additional land.

DPM expressed appreciation to the Punjab government, especially Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, for this landmark project.

He described it as a visionary and people-friendly initiative that would play an important role in improving facilities for visitors and enhancing their spiritual experience.

He also praised Dr. Ihsan Bhutta for his tireless efforts, strong monitoring system and proactive approach in advancing the project on emergency basis.

He praised the Endowments Department’s commitment to preserving the sanctity and spirituality of the holy place while providing modern facilities.

He expressed satisfaction with the pace of development, high standards and integrated planning and directed relevant authorities to speed up work and complete key projects before the annual Ur tour in July.

Ishaq Dar, Secretary of Endowments and Administration, offered prayers for the progress, unity and stability of the country.

He reiterated that such transformative initiatives reflect a deep connection to the spiritual legacy of Sufi saints and play a vital role in promoting religious tourism, facilitating pilgrims, and highlighting the global message of peace and harmony.
