ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) Islamabad Deputy Inspector General of Security Muhammad Atiq Tahir visited the Red Zone and Diplomatic Zone to review security arrangements and check the deployment of police officers.
Inspector General Atiq inspected various security points and met officers and personnel discharging their duties at sensitive locations, an official told APP on Friday.
Inspector General Atiq Tahir apprised the deployed officers of their responsibilities and directed them to remain vigilant while ensuring effective screening and security at all entry and exit points.
A special squad of women police officers has also been deployed at security posts to help in checking and maintaining security arrangements, the official said.
Inspector General Atiq Tahir emphasized that strict security measures must be ensured to protect important installations and maintain law and order in the high-security zone.
He said the ICT Police remained fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and ensuring a safe environment in the area Federalism capital.
