The Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Polio Affairs, Aisha Raza Farooq, and the Polio Control Coordinator, Captain (right) Anwarul Haq, met with Federalism Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal discusses the upcoming polio eradication campaign.
The ministry stated that polio drops will be given to more than 45 million children during the upcoming polio campaign.
The Ministry has also noted that positive results Ongoing measures to combat polio are beginning to emerge.
During the briefing, the Minister was briefed on the results of 6 out of 12 sites in the country Karachi Reported negative for polio.
Several locations in Karachi including Kemari were also declared negative.
While discussing polio cases in Balochistan Province, the Minister was informed that all the seven sites are in Balochistan Province Quetta Polio virus-free block, adding results of 5 out of 6 sites per hour are negative.
Mustafa Kamal focused on effective measures to eradicate polio in Pakistan and added that it would soon be made polio-free through a coordinated strategy and public cooperation.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating polio in Pakistan.
He urged parents to cooperate fully with those working in the field of combating polio to protect the future of the nation.
