The Accountability Court on Tuesday rejected a plea challenging the confiscation of assets owned by declared criminal Munis Elahi in development projects in Gujarat and a corruption and kickback racket.

LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st March, 2026) An accountability court on Tuesday rejected an application challenging the confiscation of assets belonging to declared offender Munis Elahi in development projects in Gujarat, a reference for corruption and kickbacks.

The application was brought by Mounis Elahi’s mother, Qaysara Elahi, who has appealed against asset confiscation proceedings initiated after Mounis Elahi was declared a declared offender.

Administrative Judge Rana Muhammad Arif announced the ruling after completing the arguments and ruled that it was not permissible to uphold the plea.

The court noted that a declared offender cannot appoint a representative to pursue legal proceedings, adding that any application filed on behalf of such an accused cannot be maintained under the law.

During the hearing, NAB Prosecutor Haris Qureshi opposed the application, arguing that Qaisara Elahi had been appointed Solicitor General by Munis Elahi but could not legally represent him in the matter.

Lawyer Arshad Javed Bhatti appeared on behalf of Qaisara Elahi.

Former Punjab Prime Minister Pervez Elahi, his son Monis Elahi, and others face accusations in the reference of receiving kickbacks and bribes in development projects in Gujarat.

NAB has already filed a corruption reference against Parvez Elahi and other accused, while Munis Elahi asset confiscation proceedings continue separately.
