The General Coordinator of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Chaudhry, visited the University of Lahore and held a series of high-level meetings with senior officials to discuss strategies for promoting interdisciplinary research.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Chowdhury met with Chairman of the Board of Governors Mr. Owais Rauf, CEO of Qasim Ali Shah Foundation Mr. Qasim Ali Shah, Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bilal Waqar, Director of ORIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, and Dr. Omar Yunus, Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre.

The discussions focused on enhancing interdisciplinary research within the university by encouraging cooperation between academic fields to address complex scientific and societal challenges.

Participants stressed the need to enhance research capabilities, strengthen links between departments, and develop innovative programs that integrate multiple disciplines.

Professor Dr. Chaudhry expressed his appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the University of Lahore to promote research and highlighted opportunities for cooperation with COMSTECH to enhance scientific excellence and enhance international partnerships among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The university leadership reaffirmed its commitment to high-quality interdisciplinary research and expressed its readiness to explore future collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing research productivity and innovation.

The visit concluded with the two sides agreeing to develop joint strategies and programs to promote interdisciplinary research and contribute to scientific progress in Pakistan and abroad.
