Sargodha (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5 April, 2026) Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Sunday chaired a meeting to review forest protection measures, intensify crackdown on timber mafia and finalize strategies to prevent forest fires across the region.
The meeting was attended by district administration officials, deputy conservator of forests, and district and district level forest officials, where the commissioner instructed the officials to expedite the ongoing tree plantation drive and enhance mutual coordination.
Asserting strict implementation of the law, Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed all relevant departments to ensure indiscriminate action against elements involved in illegal felling of trees to conserve natural resources.
Particular focus was placed on the Son Valley and the surrounding mountainous terrain, as the meeting decided to adopt a joint strategy to prevent fire incidents and protect the unique ecosystem in the region.
The Commissioner urged the district administration, police and forest department to work in unison while launching public awareness campaigns to promote green and healthy environment through maximum plantations.
