QUETTA (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19 Mar, 2026) The provincial government of Balochistan has announced stringent security measures to ensure public safety during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday and pledged zero tolerance for any lapses in law and order.
The announcement was made during a law and order meeting chaired by Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langhao in Quetta. Among the senior officials present were Additional Secretary General for Home Affairs Hamza Shafqat, Inspector General of Prisons Saeed Ahmed, Additional Inspector General Agha Yusuf and Deputy Inspector General. Quettaand DIG Counter-Terrorism Department Aitzaz Goraya, along with other relevant officers.
The participants reviewed the arrangements for Chand Raat and the days of Eid al-Fitr. Additional Secretary Home Affairs Hamza Shafqat briefed the meeting on the current security landscape and preparedness plans.
Authorities have finalized a special security strategy focusing on markets during Chand Raat the prayer Lands, Imambargahs and other public assembly points.
The plan aims to prevent unwanted incidents and ensure a safe environment for citizens celebrating the holiday.
Interior Minister Langau praised the courage and professionalism of the security forces in the fight against terrorism, noting that recent incidents had been thwarted due to their vigilance. He praised the sacrifices of individuals in the ongoing war against terrorism.
“Providing complete and guaranteed security to citizens on Eid is the first responsibility of the government,” Langau said, adding that any negligence in security arrangements will not be tolerated.
He stressed the coordinated efforts being made Pakistan Army, Border Force and Police are committed to maintaining peace and have directed all district administrations to strictly implement the approved security plans.
The meeting concluded with a firm determination to maintain the highest level of alert and smooth coordination between all security agencies during the holiday period, ensuring that citizens celebrate the holiday in peace and safety.
