On this occasion, Federal Minister of Communications and Chairman of Pakistan Istiqlal Party Abdul Aleem Khan said that Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy long-standing friendly and fraternal relations built on common religious and cultural values. He appreciated the services of the Tajik ambassador, noting that His Excellency Mr. Sharifzoda Yusuf Tuer played a pivotal and praiseworthy role in bringing the two countries closer together. He further stated that Pakistan is keen to enhance bilateral trade relations with Tajikistan and should take advantage of the vast opportunities for cooperation in various sectors. Referring to his recent visit to Tajikistan, Federal Minister Abdul Alim Khan stressed that it is necessary to accelerate the implementation of agreements between the two countries, enhance trade and benefit from mutual religious and cultural ties.
Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Tuer, warmly welcomed Federal Minister Abdul Alim Khan and stated that Tajikistan, especially under the current circumstances, is interested in making the most of Pakistan’s trade corridors. He expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s responsible and constructive role in the region and expressed optimism that positive results will emerge soon. During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening Pakistani-Tajik trade ties, enhancing regional cooperation and enhancing trade corridors between Central Asian countries. They also exchanged views on the current global situation and the prevailing tensions in South Asia. It is reported that upon the arrival of Federal Minister of Communications Abdul Alim Khan at the Embassy of Tajikistan, special melodies of patriotic songs were played, adding to the joyful atmosphere of the party.
