Sargodha (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) Exclusive price Probation magistrates and staff of Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Asad Abbas Magsi, conducted 7,972 inspections across various markets in Mianwali district this week to ensure sale of essential commodities at notified prices during the month of Ramadan.
According to an official statement issued here on Friday, the administration has intensified its monitoring campaign to reduce profiteering and hoarding in the region.
During these field operations, the teams imposed fines totaling Rs 81,500 on several shop owners who were found guilty of overcharging consumers.
In addition, at least 15 shop owners were arrested for serious violations of the price control law and failure to display official price lists.
Deputy Commissioner Asaad Abbas Magsi directed the judges to maintain a continuous presence in the markets, stressing that no one will be allowed to exploit citizens during the holy month.
He further stressed that the campaign against artificial inflation and rising prices will continue across the region to provide relief to the general public.
