Attock (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5 Mar, 2026) Four people died and two others were seriously injured on Thursday after a suspected gas leak caused an explosion that collapsed the roof of a house in Pendigib, rescue officials said.
They added that the explosion occurred near the old cemetery area, trapping six people under the rubble.
Rescue teams 1122 rushed to the site and began the process of extracting victims from under the rubble.
Officials said four people were initially recovered, two of whom died at the scene from their injuries.
During the search operation, rescuers later recovered the bodies of two other victims, bringing the death toll to four.
They added that the bodies were identified as Shazil Rizvi, Zulhad, Huzaifa and Saifullah.
The officials added that the bodies were transferred to Tehsil Main Hospital for legal action.
Two other people, Dilawar (25 years old) and Areeb (20 years old), suffered burns in the explosion. After receiving initial treatment, they were transferred to the burn center in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
