Rawalpindi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5 March, 2026) A fire broke out in a water pump warehouse located in the basement of Shanghai Plaza on Seti Sadar Road on Wednesday evening, prompting the 1122 Rescue Team to respond quickly. Rawalpindi.
According to officials, the rescue control room received 1,122 emergency calls at 6:35 p.m. Emergency teams were immediately dispatched and arrived at the scene within six minutes.
10 emergency vehicles participated in the operation, including five fire engines, an ambulance, a medical rescue station vehicle and three additional rescue vehicles.
The rescue personnel demonstrated their professional expertise by first controlling the fire in the outer part of the warehouse.
Firefighters later cut the shutter and entered the basement using a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to continue firefighting efforts inside the warehouse. The operation aims to completely extinguish the fire and prevent loss of life or property.
The rescue operation is supervised by the emergency officer in the area, Engineer Sibghatullah.
According to the media coordinator of Rescue 1122, the situation is under control, and cooling and search operations are underway to ensure complete safety.
She called on citizens to immediately call 1122 in the event of any emergency and to fully cooperate with rescue teams during such situations.
