A delegation from the Anchors Club led by its president and senior journalist Akhtar Shaheen Rand visited the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and expressed their solidarity with the Iranian leadership and people in the wake of the recent developments in the ongoing conflict.
KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27 March 2026) A delegation from the Anchors Club headed by its president and senior journalist Akhtar Shaheen Rand visited the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi. Karachi He expressed his solidarity with the Iranian leadership and people in the wake of the latest developments in the ongoing conflict.
A statement said that the delegation met with the Iranian Consul General in Karachi, His Excellency Akbar Issazadeh, and Deputy Consul Gholam Abbas Zapoli. He explained Abbas’s bellowing on this occasion.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed its heartfelt condolences over the martyrdom of the senior leadership, high-ranking officials and innocent civilians, including female students. She also offered Al-Fatihah to the souls of the departed.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhtar Shaheen Rand reiterated the Reporters’ Club’s commitment to responsible, fact-based journalism, stressing the importance of combating misinformation and ensuring verified views are presented to a global audience.
During the meeting, Consul General Akbar Issa Zadeh stated that the conflict began at a time when Iran was engaged in negotiations.
He claimed that the attacks resulted in the martyrdom of senior leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The Consul General confirmed that Iran is exercising its legal right to self-defense and remains in a defensive position.
The Consul General stressed that Islamic countries must play their role in ensuring peace in the region.
He expressed his appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the importance of responsible media participation during critical times.
