The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Tuesday rejected a plea to transfer the Sana Yousuf murder case, imposing a fine of Rs 1,000 on the accused.

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 7, 2026) The Islamabad District Sessions Court on Tuesday rejected a request to transfer the Sana Yousuf murder case and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the accused.

The decision came during ongoing proceedings, with the court saying the trial should continue without delay and witness statements would resume on April 16.

The accused, Omar Hayat, had submitted a request to transfer the case to another court. Session Judge Nasir Javed rejected the request, describing it as a waste of time.

In the written order, the judge indicated that transferring the case after formal charges were filed was not justified. The court noted that the accused was using repeated requests to delay the trial process.

The judge ordered the defense lawyer to focus on the trial and questioning witnesses rather than making allegations. The order also noted that the petition could have been dismissed with a higher penalty, but the court imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 and dismissed the petition.

The case is currently being tried in the court of Additional Session Judge Afzal Majoka. After the decision was issued on the transfer request, the hearing was postponed until April 16.

The court will continue to record the statements of the remaining witnesses in the next session as the trial continues.
