Islamabad (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 4, 2026) Pakistan Sports blackboard The PSB has welcomed the decision of the Sports Anti-Doping Division (CAS ADD) Arbitration Tribunal to impose life bans on former Pakistan Weightlifting Federation president Hafiz Imran Butt and coach Irfan Butt for serious anti-doping rule violations.
The PSB Council said in a statement that the Council considers this decision an important step towards preserving the integrity of sports and holding accountable those involved in systemic doping practices.
It is worth noting that the PSB had already taken decisive action in November 2025 by suspending and banning individuals involved in doping-related misconduct, after due process and multiple hearings.
The CAS decision now independently confirms the validity of PSB’s consistent and principled position.
The PSB reiterates that it announced a clear and strict anti-doping policy last year, under which zero tolerance is guaranteed against any violation of anti-doping rules. In line with this policy, the individuals named in the CAS decision will not be permitted to participate in any sports-related activity in Pakistan in any capacity.
The PSB also confirms that full and strict compliance with the CAS decision will be ensured at all levels, without exception.
