Islamabad (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – April 3, 2026) The All Parties Freedoms Conference called on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to intervene and stop India’s alleged settler-colonial policies in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, especially before the 2027 census.

According to the Kashmir Information Service, the 2027 Census in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) will be conducted in two phases, from June 1 to June 30, across the territory.

APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement from Srinagar, said that since August 2019, the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has introduced a series of stringent laws in IIOJK.

These measures include new housing and land regulations, the demolition of civilian property, the eviction of local residents, and the termination of government employees, measures he described as part of an ongoing settler colonial agenda.

He warned that government policies opened the door for non-residents to obtain land and job opportunities, with the aim of changing the demographic composition of the region.

The spokesman added that the expulsion of Kashmiri employees from government positions aims to marginalize the local population within the civil administration.

Describing the moves as a deep-rooted conspiracy, he said: “The settler colonial campaign is being carried out under the guise of newly introduced habitation laws to replace the indigenous population with a new settler society.”

He noted that legal changes have allowed foreigners to settle permanently in the territory and compete for existing jobs, while dissenting voices are increasingly silenced under strict laws, creating what he called a “virtual prison” environment.

Referring to the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, Minhas stated that the Indian government had implemented the move “militarily and illegally” to change the demographic and political identity of the region.

Amid fear and harassment, IIOJK residents are prevented from freely asserting their rights and identity, he warned.

APHC emphasized that lasting peace will remain impossible unless India Restores the democratic and political rights of indigenous people, in accordance with international law.
