‘Farm for Generations’ is in full swing to promote green city Faisalabad: Directorate General of Food and Drug Administration

Faisalabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 2, 2026) Director General Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that the ‘Farm for Generation’ campaign is being actively implemented to promote a greener Faisalabad on sustainable grounds.

He added that for this purpose, all segments of society, especially young people, are being mobilized to plant 100,000 large-sized seedlings throughout the city.

Addressing an awareness seminar at Government Islamic Postgraduate College on Sargodha Road, he detailed Divisional Commissioner Raja Jehangir Anwar’s vision for the ‘Farming for Generations’ campaign and said that this tree plantation campaign will help in imparting a green environment to the future generations on strong and sustainable foundations.

He stressed the crucial role of youth and urged them to plant large-sized seedlings and take full responsibility for their care and growth.

He said that in IslamPlanting trees is considered ongoing charity, while science considers trees to be natural machines that produce oxygen, which confirms their vital role in human survival.

He said that educational institutions provide a safe environment for planting within their buildings, which encourages students to actively participate in tree planting.

He informed that under the initiatives of the FDA, 20,000 saplings are being planted within the boundaries of various housing schemes across the city and the campaign is progressing strongly.

Speaking on the occasion, Dilawar Khan Chadar, Director General, Parks and Horticulture Agency (PHA), highlighted the importance of trees for a healthy environment and warned that failure to increase forest cover in line with global standards could pose serious threats to human survival.

He stressed the need to intensify efforts to ensure a healthy life for future generations.

Director of Colleges, Professor Bushra Parveen shared the steps being taken with the renewed commitment to promoting plantations and said that colleges across the department would fulfill the mission of growing large scale plants.

Other officials and faculty members also addressed the symposium and encouraged students to plant more trees.

Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Atiq Amjad, presented a vote of thanks and appreciation for the vision of Divisional Commissioner Faisalabad, Raja Jehangir Anwar, to launch the “Farm for a Generation” campaign.

Later, FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry and other officials planted large-sized saplings on the college premises and prayed for their survival and prosperity of the country.

Additional Commissioner of Tawhid Afzal Hayat Tarar, Deputy Director of Colleges, Dr Habibur Rahman and others in addition to a large number of students also attended the seminar.
