
SEA GUARDIAN IV EXERCISE: Pakistan Navy and Chinese Navy enhance interoperability in the Arabian Sea
ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 2, 2026) The SEA GUARDIAN IV exercise, conducted from March 25 to April 1, 2026, between the Pakistan Navy and the People’s Liberation Army(N), aims to enhance maritime interoperability and cooperation. The exercises included a five-day port phase in Karachi and a two-day sea phase in the North Arabian Sea.
During the port visit, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy ship DAQING was welcomed by PNS TAIMUR. Activities included exchange visits, orientation at naval facilities, professional discussions on maritime challenges, and holding the first seminar for young officers.
The sea phase included major exercises such as multi-domain swarm threat air defense exercises, operations with a Pakistan Navy submarine, conventional naval warfare exercises, and live artillery firing to enhance operational and tactical coordination.
The exercises concluded with a coordinated patrol in the Arabian Sea, which reaffirmed the commitment of both navies to regional maritime security and stability.
