According to the police spokesperson, the RPO reviewed disciplinary matters and appeals involving individuals from Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot and Jhang districts.
During the hearing, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Imran Khan Faisalabad The district was dismissed from service on charges of poor performance and abuse of powers. Similarly, Sub-Inspector (SI) Farhan Khan and Constable Usman (No. 373) of Toba Tek Singh were also dismissed for corruption and providing relief to drug peddlers. In another decision, Sub-Inspector Zia of Chiniot district was demoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector due to unsatisfactory performance.
Meanwhile, Constable Dildar Hussain of Toba Tek Singh has been promoted to Head Constable after his appeal was accepted, while Assistant Police Station Muhammad Qamar of Jhang was reinstated to duty after his appeal was approved.
The Counter-Terrorism Office also showed leniency in minor disciplinary cases by granting general amnesty in 42 appeals.
Addressing the officers on the occasion, the RPO warned that corrupt and incompetent officials and those who abuse their power must mend their ways as accountability within the department will continue without any discrimination.
He said officers who show good performance will be encouraged while those who bring disrepute to the department will face strict action.
He also directed police personnel to deal with complainants who visit police stations courteously as public service is the top priority of the police force.
