Rawalpindi Free Signal Project to be completed in record time: Minister

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – March 30, 2026) Punjab Minister for Communications and Works Malik Suhaib Ahmed Bharat said that Rawalpindi The Signal Free project will be completed in record time.

He made the remarks while chairing a meeting to review the ongoing development projects across Rawalpindi district, including the free signal project, according to a circular issued here.

Officers of the Communications and Works Department, Highways Department, NESPAK and other relevant departments attended the meeting, while Highways Department officials from the division participated via video link.

The Minister was informed that the project consists of overhead bridges and three tunnels, with construction work continuing in three shifts at a rapid pace. The project also includes a modern redesign of Kachari Chowk, Iftikhar Jahangir Janjua Chowk and Annexe Chowk.

During the meeting, the ongoing development plans across Rawalpindi District were reviewed in detail. The Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure timely completion of all expressway projects, including those in Murree and other areas of the division, and assured that any delay would not be tolerated.

He also inspected the Signal Free project website and expressed his satisfaction with the pace and quality of work. He said that the project will benefit millions of citizens daily and will help reduce traffic congestion, while enhancing commercial activity in the region.

Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharat also directed the officials to expedite all development projects across the division in line with overall facilitation priorities.
