Lahore, March 27, 2026 – The Punjab government has extended the imposition of Article 144 for 30 days, while maintaining the ban on open-air flying of drones across the province until April 25 due to security concerns.
According to a Punjab Home Ministry spokesperson, the ban on flying drones in open spaces will remain fully implemented throughout Punjab. However, limited use of small drones will be permitted inside halls and marquees during indoor events, with organizers responsible for ensuring safe operation.
The notification issued by the administration stated that intelligence and law enforcement agencies were exempted from the ban. The spokesman said that the decision was taken in light of security concerns, stressing that protecting public life, maintaining law and order, and protecting property remain top priorities.
The Home Ministry has directed district administrations and police across the province to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
