
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi received separate detailed briefings at the Governor’s Residence on Friday on the performance of the Press Information Department (PID) and the National Book Foundation (NBF), focusing on the need for modern communication strategies and promoting reading culture in the society.
PESHAWAR, 27 MARCH 2026: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi received separate detailed briefings at the Governor’s Residence on Friday on the performance of the Press Information Department (PID) and the National Book Foundation (NBF), emphasizing the need for modern communication strategies and promotion of reading culture in the society.
During a briefing by PID Peshawar, Director General Tahira Syeda and Deputy Director Rumana Asad Khan briefed the Governor on the responsibilities of the department, including challenges in digital media, strategic communication, media relations, public narrative, outreach, stakeholder engagement, social media management, crisis communication, and internal coordination.
The briefing also highlighted efforts to build effective narratives by promoting government initiatives, news Publishing, research-based articles.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that the PID has a huge responsibility in promoting the nation’s narrative and must be in line with modern communications requirements.

The governor appreciated the efforts of the National Book Foundation, and said that books and reading play a vital role in the intellectual development of any society.
He directed that more measures be taken to enhance the reading habit among young people and ensure the availability of books in remote areas.
He stressed full cooperation in order to enhance educational and literary activities in the governorate.
