Sargodha (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27 March 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chowdhury called on citizens, government offices, private institutions and commercial centers to participate in Earth Hour tomorrow, March 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
The initiative, on the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister, aims to promote environmental protection and energy conservation by turning off unnecessary lights for one hour, the DC said.
He directed the relevant departments to organize awareness campaigns to educate the public about the importance of Earth Hour and ensure maximum participation.
“Collective action is essential to address climate change. Despite the symbolism of Earth Hour, it is an effective step towards promoting environmentally friendly behaviour,” he said, urging residents to turn off the lights and set an example as responsible citizens.
