Sialkot, March 27, 2026 Sialkot Government Women University (GCWUS) on Friday hosted a delegation from the Technology and Innovation Summit (TIS) of the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association. Pakistan To explore ways of collaboration between academia and industry.
The delegation, headed by Salman Awan, included Naeem Afzal and Saboor Ahmed, and visited the university under the supervision of SIMAP First Vice President Sulaiman Ali Mughal.
During the visit, the delegation held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Shazia Bashir, along with senior faculty members and administrative officials.
The discussion focused on strengthening academic-industry links with particular emphasis on internships, industry exposure and student collaborative initiatives.
An official invitation has been extended to GCWUS to participate in the Technology and Innovation Summit 2026, The decision Scheduled for April 22, 2026.
The university administration expressed its hope that such participations would help bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, and enable students to acquire market-relevant skills.
