Kohat DC chairs key meetings to enhance service delivery, crack down on illegal mining

The session was attended by officers of the district administration, executive departments and other relevant institutions

Kohat (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25 March 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat On Wednesday, he chaired an important online meeting under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s initiative on service delivery to the region, thereby strengthening efforts to improve public services across the region. The session was attended by officers of the district administration, executive departments and other relevant institutions.

During the meeting, ongoing social welfare projects and service provision were comprehensively reviewed, while departments were directed to ensure immediate, transparent and sustainable solutions to public issues. The Deputy Commissioner stressed that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery at the grassroots level. Furthermore, all departments have been instructed to adopt a coordinated strategy, ensure timely completion of projects, and submit progress reports regularly, with the warning that negligence will not be tolerated.

In a separate session, the Deputy Commissioner chaired another important meeting focused on preventing illegal alluvial gold mining. Officials, including the district police officer and representatives of the forest department, participated and highlighted the key challenges.

The Deputy Commissioner directed that strict legal action be taken against those involved in illegal mining activities, stressing the need for effective enforcement mechanisms.

Meanwhile, on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Ibrahim Khan visited the service delivery center in Latchi, where he inspected property transfer records and interacted with citizens. Public feedback was reported as positive, and the Tehsildar’s performance was appreciated, thus reflecting improved service standards at the facility.
