Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has instructed all deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and relevant departments to be on alert to deal with any emergency due to rain expected from Wednesday.
KARACHI (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 24th Mar, 2026) Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has directed all Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and relevant departments to be on alert to deal with any emergency due to expected rains from Wednesday.
He called for full preparedness to implement their emergency plans to reduce rain damage and provide relief to citizens. All departments must submit details of their emergency plan to the Commissioner’s Office immediately.
The Commissioner’s Rescue Helpline has been activated to assist citizens and coordinate between departments. A crew has been appointed, and citizens can call the rescue number 1299 for assistance or information.
He directed the deputy commissioners to activate control rooms and set up help desks there. Written orders were issued to various authorities, including Additional IG Karachi Police, DIG Traffic Police, MC KMC, TMAs, Storage Boards, Sui Gas, KE and Health Ministry.
