Lahore, March 24, 2026 (Urdu Points Network, March 24, 2026) The Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday approved the 10-day pretrial detention of the leader of the banned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Labbaik, Farooq Al-Hassan, in a case related to violence against police and arson, and accepted the police’s request for further investigation.

Police produced Farooq Al-Hassan before the court and requested his remand for 30 days, saying he had been a proclaimed offender for several months before his recent arrest. Investigators said additional detention is needed to complete the investigation.

Justice Shahid Sikander heard the petition and granted 10 days’ remand instead of the 30 days sought by the police.

The court ordered investigators to refer the accused again on April 4.

According to police, the case has been registered by Nuan Khot police station over allegations of violence against police personnel, arson and vandalism.
