
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Tuesday visited the under-construction Jinnah Cardiology Institute to review the pace of ongoing development work and evaluate the progress of the project.
Lahore, March 24, 2026 – Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Tuesday visited the under-construction Jinnah Cardiology Institute to review the pace of ongoing development work and evaluate the progress of the project.
Chairman of Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisory Committee on Cardiology Dr. Farqad Alamgir, Director of Allama Iqbal Medical College Professor Taiba Waseem, and Medical Superintendent of Punjab Institute of Cardiology Dr. Aamir Rafiq Butt were present during the visit.
Officials from Punjab Infrastructure Development Authority, including Meera Ali and contractors, briefed the minister on the construction progress and timelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafiq said that the emergency department and outpatient clinics of Jinnah Cardiology Institute will be opened to the public soon.
He said that the Punjab government is building a modern heart hospital at a cost of more than Rs 15 lakh. one billionAdding that patients will be provided with international standard cardiac treatment facilities at the institution.
The minister said all relevant departments, including IDAP, are working around the clock to ensure timely completion of the project. He expressed his confidence that the hospital would be completed in the meantime table.
Thousands of heart patients from all over Punjab will benefit from the facility, Khawaja Salman Rafique said, adding that the government is committed to expanding treatment facilities for heart patients and ensuring access to quality healthcare at their doorsteps.
He added that patients at the hospital will receive treatment by leading cardiac surgeons, in addition to modern operating rooms and advanced care facilities.
