Khanewal (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23 March 2026) Strict monitoring of public transport continued after the Eid holiday.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rasheed, the District Transport Authority conducted operations at various checkpoints on the third day of Eid.
During the campaign, 67 vehicles were searched.
Fines of Rs 20,500 were imposed on nine vehicles for overcharging, seven vehicles were recalled, and two were impounded.
In addition, the excess fares were refunded to 15 passengers.
Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rasheed said exploitation of passengers would not be tolerated, adding that strict measures against overcharging and overloading would continue.
