ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23 March 2026) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday expressed hope that the country would continue to adhere to the austerity measures adopted by the government in light of the recent ongoing regional conflicts.
Their values of unity, faith and discipline will be constant and together they will succeed in getting through this challenge as well.
He said that they were celebrating “National Day” at a time when the region was mired in conflicts and the economic and political repercussions of the ongoing conflict had also affected them.
In a message on Pakistan Today, the Deputy Foreign Minister extended his warm greetings to his fellow Pakistanis on this important occasion of the day.
“Today we honor the Pakistan Resolution adopted on March 23, 1940, by which the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent demanded a separate homeland in which they could live according to the principles of Islam. IslamA DPM/FM press release quoted him as saying.
As they proudly celebrate the March anniversary, he said they pay tribute to the tireless efforts, courage, vision and determination of their predecessors that led to the creation of independent Pakistan.
He added that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the Pakistani movement and overcame many challenges with remarkable resilience, courage and faith.
Dar said that the brave nation made countless sacrifices in order to achieve the nation sought in this decision. The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister further said that Pakistan remains strongly committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism.
He added that Pakistan’s actions inside Afghanistan against the threat of Indian sedition and the Kharijite/Pakistani Taliban sedition were directed towards this goal.
“The brave sons of the Earth are sacrificing their lives to achieve it,” Dar said. “We pay tribute to our martyrs and heroes who made great sacrifices to improve our collective future.”
He said on this day that they cannot forget their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and the extraordinary sacrifices they made in their quest for the inalienable right to self-determination.
He said that Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to provide moral and diplomatic support so that the persecuted individuals of IIOJK get their right to self-determination.
On this special day, he also extended his warm regards to his fellow Pakistanis living abroad and praised their patriotism, dedication and hard work.
“They proudly represent Pakistan internationally every day and play a vital role in shaping the country’s future success,” he added.
