Beijing (AFP – Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 20 March 2026) China welcomes the temporary ceasefire agreement reached by Pakistan Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian and Afghanistan said.
Lin made the remarks at a regular press conference yesterday after the two countries announced the suspension of military operations during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Lin said that China hopes that the two countries will remain calm and restrained, immediately resume peace talks, achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire as soon as possible, resolve differences through dialogue, and jointly maintain peace and stability between the two countries and in the region.
Lin said that China appreciates the efforts made by relevant Islamic countries and is mediating the conflict through its own channels, adding that China is willing to continue to play a constructive role in this regard.
