LGH celebrates Eid with gifts for children with thalassemia and blood disorders

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18 March 2026) Director of Amiruddin Medical College, Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal, distributed Eid gifts to children suffering from thalassemia and various blood disorders who are undergoing treatment at Amiruddin Medical College. Lahore General Hospital (LGH), here on Wednesday.

In his speech during the ceremony, Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal stressed that children are a precious wealth and a guarantee of a bright future.

He stressed that ensuring their health and happiness is a collective responsibility.

He added that in addition to providing high-quality medical care, the initiative aims to involve these children in Eid celebrations so that they do not feel isolated.

Professor Muhammad Shahid W Ms Professor Dr. Faryad Hussain emphasized that under the directions of the Punjab government, especially Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the best possible medical facilities have been provided to children suffering from thalassemia and blood disorders by utilizing all available resources.

Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal said that special care, timely provision of blood and modern medical facilities were provided to thalassemia patients at LGH Hospital to improve and protect their lives.

During the ceremony, Eid gifts were distributed to the children, which put a smile on their faces.

Parents expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the compassionate efforts made by the hospital administration, noting that such initiatives raise children’s morale and help them feel happy despite their illness.

The hospital management reaffirmed its commitment to continue these social welfare initiatives for the well-being of patients in the future.

The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Faryad Hussein, Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahid, Professor Dr. Hassan Suleiman Malik, and Dr. Abdul Aziz, along with doctors, nursing staff, and a large number of parents.
