Man dies in fire at Pahalgam resort in IIOJK

Mirpur (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan a point news – March 18, 2026) A 31-year-old man died and several buildings were destroyed in a fire at a tourist resort in an illegal area. Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the officials said.

Reports reaching here on Wednesday said that the fire broke out at a resort in Pahalgam in Anantnag district.

The victim was identified as Manjeet Singh, a resident of Hotmorah Mattan, who worked in a hotel in the area.

Reports stated that the fire broke out at an honey resort in the Rangward area.

During efforts to contain the fire, Singh was hit by a reverse fire truck.

Doctors said he was taken to hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.

The fire destroyed two three-story buildings and partially damaged another building. A vehicle was also reported damaged.

Authorities said the cause of the fire was still unclear, adding that an investigation was underway.
