During the successful operations carried out by the police and the Serious Crimes Investigation Department in different areas of the city, people involved in murders, robberies and other serious crimes were arrested, while weapons, cash, gold and other stolen items were also recovered.
This came while providing details in a press conference about the successes achieved by the Serious Crimes Investigation Department in many blind and difficult cases.
He said that significant progress had been made so far in 10 important cases and the arrest of suspects.
In the Eastern Crossing murder case, the accused, Ihsan Allah, was arrested and weapons were found in his possession.
Likewise, in the Saryab Khalifa Ghali murder case, the accused Abdul Mannan was also arrested during a professional operation.
He said that significant progress had been made in the case of murder and robbery of an 80-year-old woman in Nawan Kili, where the accused Nawaz Masih was arrested and gold and cash recovered.
The accused was also wanted in 11 other cases, out of which he was nominated in 10. 5 accused of a gang that robbed Rs 11.5 crore wearing police uniform were arrested on Cut Piece Road, including Mahmud Al Hasan (police constable), Habib Rehman, Aurangzeb (DSP CTD) and Abdul Hamid.
During the operation, cash amounting to Rs 28.7 million, weapons and police uniforms were also confiscated.
The Sudanese Public Prosecution also said that in the Saryab robbery case, Abdul Hamid, Khudidad, Abdul Manan, Muhammad Salim and Nasrullah were arrested and found in their possession of gold worth about one million rupees, a Prado car, 10 police uniforms, a tax collection, two rifles, a pistol and handcuffs, while in the Zarghun road robbery case, three accused Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Asghar and Ali Jan, 2 million rupees in cash and a motorcycle were arrested. They were recovered from their custody.
Similarly, in a private bank robbery case in Hazarganji, the main accused Hamza Baig, from whose possession Rs 29.8 million was recovered, has been arrested while more accused are being sought.
He said that the Criminal Investigation Wing for Serious Crimes arrested the accused of theft, Abdul Hadi, in the area of Al-Bireh Police Station and seized the stolen jewelry, while the fugitive accused, Muhammad Ismail, was also arrested in 9 cases.
Muhammad Azeem, a member of the four-member gang that hijacked the Suzuki on the Eastern Bypass, was arrested and the vehicle recovered, while AVLC forces arrested the inter-district gang and also recovered an auto rickshaw, a Suzuki and a government Swift vehicle.
Dr. Sami Malik said that the accused, Qais Ali and Ali Abbas, who were involved in the rape case of a girl in Mariaabad, were arrested, and the Suzuki vehicle used in the incident was also seized.
