ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17 March 2026) Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq chaired a high-level meeting to review security arrangements for Eid al-Fitr and crime prevention measures in Islamabad. Federalism capital.

An official told APP on Tuesday that the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Security, District Superintendents of Police (SP) and SP Capital Patrol.

DIG Tariq has instructed officers to ensure foolproof security at markets, mosques and entertainment places during Chand Raat and Eid days.

He issued instructions that all patrol units must remain visible in the field and that patrols must be more effective and purposeful.

Muhammad Jawad Tariq also directed to tighten inspection procedures at entry and exit points from the city.

He ordered a campaign against aerial firing, rioting and rushing to maintain law and order during Eid.

DIG Tariq said that special police teams, foot patrols, bicycle patrols and horse riding teams should be deployed at entertainment venues and crowded areas.

He also directed the need to ensure guaranteed security and physical searches in mosques during Eid congregations.

Director of the General Directorate, Tariq, issued instructions to officers to deal with neighborhood committees during the Eid holiday and launch awareness campaigns advising citizens to properly secure their homes before leaving and to ensure adequate lighting arrangements.

He also directed the deployment of traffic police in crowded places and entertainment areas to maintain the smooth flow of traffic.

Tariq stressed that declared criminals and previously convicted criminals involved in serious crimes must be arrested.
