Federal Secretary for Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Nadeem Mahboob, while speaking about the launch of the universal enrollment campaign, noted that this initiative comes in the wake of the recent announcement of the “No Child Left Behind” campaign by the Federal Minister of Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Field teams from the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) and National Education Foundation (NEF) have been mobilized across the capital.

The secretary explained that both formal and informal education The departments are implementing the “Carpet Covering Plan” at the Federation Council level.

Under this strategy, teams conduct door-to-door surveys to identify out-of-school children and ensure their immediate enrollment.

To strengthen the campaign, the Ministry took several collaborative measures, engaging university students as volunteers to identify children and help register them within their communities. International NGOs and local civil society organizations are collaborating with the Ministry to maximize outreach at the grassroots level. New community schools will be established to provide learning opportunities close to students’ homes, meeting their specific academic needs.

The Minister further stressed that progress will be reviewed on a weekly basis to ensure strict adherence to the timeline and effective implementation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that no child is deprived of his right to education, noting that the registration of 25,000 children in schools within three months is evidence of this determination.
