Security measures are tightened in Islamabad on the occasion of Al-Quds Day

Islamabad (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 13 March 2026) Security across the country Federalism Measures were tightened in the capital on Friday, as authorities deployed more than 3,500 police officers and set up special sit-ins to ensure the peaceful celebration of Jerusalem Day.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, along with Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, visited various security checkpoints in the city to review the arrangements made for the day.

During the visit, Randhawa directed police officers and personnel deployed at various locations to carefully perform their duties and ensure smooth conduct of processions.

Officials said tight security arrangements have been put in place around mosques and imams across the city, including Faisal Mosque, while entry and exit points into the capital are being closely monitored.

More than 3,500 officers and personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order, IG Rizvi said, adding that special sit-ins have also been set up at various locations in the capital.

He added that well-equipped units of Islamabad Police were conducting effective patrolling across the city to enhance security.

“Protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police,” Rizvi said.

Randhawa said that in line with the directives of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, comprehensive measures have been taken to enhance security arrangements across Islamabad.

He added that all available capabilities are being exploited to ensure the safety of citizens in the federal capital.
