Sialkot (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12 Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali chaired a meeting of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) committee on Nullah Bhd, where he reviewed its current condition, soil removal, expansion and alignment.
The meeting was attended by officials from relevant departments and other stakeholders.
During the meeting, various proposals to improve the sanitation system in the nullah were discussed. It was agreed to carry out sediment removal, expansion and improvement of the alignment of the water channel on a regular basis to prevent water accumulation in urban areas during the rainy season.
The DC has ordered a strict ban on littering in and around Nullah Bhd and violators will face hefty fines, while an FIR will also be registered if necessary.
According to DC Office spokesperson, Saba Asghar Ali also directed the authorities to develop scientific and normative indicators to improve the hygiene system and ensure effective monitoring.
She said that providing a clean environment for citizens was the top priority of the district administration, and improving Nullah Head would help strengthen the city’s sewerage system. The concerned departments were directed to ensure immediate implementation of the decisions.
