
The central procession organized in connection with the Day of Martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful Hazrat Ali (may God be pleased with him) concluded in Karbala Jamai Shah after passing through the roads designated for it in the provincial capital on Wednesday.
Lahore, (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 11 March, 2026) The central procession that was launched on the occasion of the Martyrdom Day of the Commander of the Faithful Hazrat Ali (may God be pleased with him) in Karbala Jamai Shah concluded after passing through the roads designated for it in the capital of the province on Wednesday.
The main procession started from Imambargah Mubarak Haveli where a large number of mourners participated to pay homage to Hazrat Ali (may God be pleased with him).
During the procession, mourners recited Nuha and performed the Matam, expressing their grief and devotion to Hazrat Ali (may God be pleased with him).
The procession passed through Nawab Sahib Chowk, Wazir Khan Chowk, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Mosque, Rang Mahal Chowk and Bani Wala Talab before reaching Tehsil Bazaar Lal Mosque, where the participants performed the two-day prayer led by Maulana Asghar Mehdi.
After prayers, the procession resumed its route through Tehsil Bazaar, Kucha Faqirkhana, Bhatti Gate and finally concluded at Imambargah Karbala Jamai Shah.
The administration made strict security arrangements along the procession route to ensure the security and safety of the participants.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Abdul Karim expressed his appreciation for the performance of all officers and personnel deployed in security service across the province, including Lahore Police, to ensure effective security arrangements are made on this occasion.
He said that the Traffic Police, Special Branch and Counter-Terrorism Department, along with other units, carried out their duties in excellent coordination.
Abdul Karim further said that district administrations, Punjab Safe Cities Authority, security agencies and media have extended full cooperation to Punjab Police. He also thanked religious scholars from all sects and organizers of religious gatherings and processions for promoting inter-sectarian harmony and cooperating with the authorities.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr Athar Waheed said that City Traffic Area SSP Maqsood Ahmad Lone supervised the traffic arrangements. He added that two service providers, five service providers, 52 inspectors and 674 monitors, along with traffic wardens and assistants, performed their duty on the occasion.
