Faisalabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5th March, 2026) As many as 32 deserving girl students have received sewing machines after successfully completing garment making training at Sarwari Rafiq School of Handicrafts.
In this regard, the Marzi Bora Social Welfare Association here on Thursday organized a distribution ceremony in which prominent philanthropist and social personality, Haji Iftikhar Ahmad Ansari was present as the chief guest while the association’s president, Haji Riaz Ahmad Ansari, presided over the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General Muhammad Arshad Qasmi said that this is the third time that sewing machines are being distributed to students through the platform of Sarwari Rafiq Handicraft School in Marzi Pura. He added that 39 students had previously obtained sewing machines after completing their vocational training.
He said that providing women with professional skills is the key to social development and national progress. He said financial assistance may provide temporary relief but skills development has made a lasting impact by enabling individuals to earn sustainable livelihoods. He added that providing a sewing machine can change the economic situation of a family as the family can gradually overcome poverty through dedication and hard work once the basic earning tool is available.
Muhammad Arshad Qasimi said that the association is striving to establish handicraft schools in every locality so that unemployment and poverty can be reduced through practical vocational training. educationespecially for women.
Haji Riaz Ahmed Ansari said the Social Welfare Society has played a historic role in empowering women through skills development over the past 65 years. He added that thousands of trained women are now earning their livelihoods from home by running beauty salons and making clothes.
Haji Iftikhar Ahmad Ansari urged the students to remain committed to hard work and discipline, saying that people who constantly strive and complete their assignments on time continue to move forward in life and achieve success.
The school principal, Hafiza Saba Tabassum, said that the Social Welfare Society enjoys the distinction enjoyed by many other institutions in the city that are now training their students under the supervision of their experienced teachers.
She said that female students of the Government Vocational Institute are also undergoing training in the field of handicrafts at the association school To further hone and enhance their professional skills.
