The capital calls for interfaith harmony, and shares iftar with orphans

Kohat (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat Department Minister Muhammad Nawaz on Friday stressed the need for interfaith harmony and collective efforts to maintain peace while chairing a meeting on the law and order situation in the region.

The meeting was attended by the District Police Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), prominent Sunni and Shia religious scholars and local elders, who discussed measures to promote religious tolerance, interfaith dialogue and community-led peace initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said lasting peace can only be achieved through mutual understanding and cooperation between religious leaders, community elders and citizens.

He added that the district administration is maintaining close coordination with the police and other relevant agencies to ensure law and order.

The participants expressed their appreciation for the administration’s efforts and affirmed their full support for the initiatives aimed at promoting community harmony in the region.

Later he visited the Deputy Commissioner Pakistan Baitul Mal Kohat Sweet Home where he had breakfast with orphan children.

During the visit, he viewed the living and educational facilities and interacted with the children about their studies and daily activities.

Encourage them to focus education And participate in extracurricular activities, noting that such participations are important for building confidence and shaping a brighter future.
