Attock (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Mar, 2026) Anil Saeed Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG), Anil Saeed, chaired an important meeting of price control judges to review the measures being taken to maintain Prices Controlling basic commodities and limiting profiteering during the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting was attended by price control judges from different regions, who presented their respective performance reports. On this occasion, Anil Saeed directed the officers to continue strengthening price Control mechanism across the district is in line with the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, utilizing all available resources to provide maximum relief to the public.
He said the demand is on food Items increase during Ramadan, making some items try to engage in overcharging and profiteering. But he made it clear that the district administration would not show any leniency towards such elements.
The ADCG instructed price control judges to conduct daily visits to bazaars, markets and Ramadan bazaars, and ensure strict implementation of officially notified price lists.
He stressed the need to ensure the availability of vegetables, fruits, flour, sugar, pulses and other basic commodities at fixed rates.
Anil Saeed further warned that strict action, including fines, closure of shops and legal action, will be taken against those involved in overcharging, hoarding and illegal profiteering.
The meeting also stressed the need for price control judges to intensify their field activities and maintain an effective monitoring system to provide maximum comfort to consumers. Various issues related to the facilities provided in Ramadan markets, the supply of basic goods and improving quality standards were also discussed.
ADCG confirmed the region’s administration’s intention to continue all possible efforts during the holy month to facilitate the public and completely eliminate profiteering.
