Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) The Islamabad District Sessions Court on Friday rejected the appeals filed by Pakistan Social media activist, Tehreek-e-Insaf (PaRI), Haider Saeed is in two cases linked to controversial tweets.
The court upheld the previous decision issued by a judicial judge to refuse to release him on bail.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka heard the appeals. After hearing the arguments of both parties, the court announced its decision and rejected the appeals.
During the session, the defense lawyer said that the tweets published by Haider Saeed did not contain any content that could cause disturbances. The lawyers also told the court that the cases were registered for political reasons.
The defense also said that Saeed mobile The phone and other digital devices were already in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). They said that since the authorities had already gained access to the devices, there was no reason to keep him in detention.
The prosecution opposed the bail requests and asked the court to maintain the previous decision. Prosecutors said the defendant used social media to call for the closure of dams and highways.
They also told the court that digital terrorism does not involve weapons, but rather statements that can lead to disruption. Cases have been registered against Haider Saeed by NCCIA over controversial tweets.
