ITP announces red zone traffic plan and diversions on major roads

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Friday issued a traffic warning announcing restricted access to the red zone and diversions on several major roads in Islamabad. Federalism Capital to regulate traffic flow.

An ITP official told APP that Margalla Road and the road via Marriott Hotel will remain open for entry into the red zone, while all other entry points leading to the zone will remain closed.

He said Kulsoom Plaza on Fazlul Haq Road towards China Chowk will remain closed for traffic and commuters are advised to use Jinnah Street as an alternative route.

Traffic coming from the medical complex will be diverted towards Lal District Chowk via Luqman Al-Hakim Road, and citizens are advised to use Al-Sadr Road as an alternative route.

The official said passengers traveling from G-6 to F-6 should use the China Chowk Underpass or Seventh Avenue via Jinnah Street.

Traffic moving between Appara Chowk and Serena Hotel via Suhrawardy Road will also face diversions.

He said that citizens coming from Club Road are advised to use Kashmir Chowk, Srinagar Highway, Seventh Avenue and Margalla Road to reach their destination.

Likewise, those traveling from Bhara Kahu should use Kashmir Chowk, Srinagar Expressway, Seventh Avenue and Margalla Road as the designated route.

The official called on citizens to cooperate with the traffic police and follow instructions to avoid inconvenience.
