Faisalabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5 March 2026) Senior Engineer, Transmission and Grid (T&G) Faisalabad Electrical Supply Company (FESCO) engineer Faisal Reda Marth said on Thursday that all necessary technical and administrative procedures have been completed to ensure that consumers do not have power outages during the upcoming summer season.
In his speech during a special meeting held at the GSO Department, he said that Visco has completed various projects including enhancing the capabilities of network stations, improving transmission lines and comprehensive inspection of equipment to enhance the power distribution system before the peak demand period.
He said that under the special guidance of FISCO CEO, Engineer Mohamed Amer, the capacity of ten 132 kilovolt network stations has been enhanced throughout the FESCO region, due to the expected increase in demand for electricity during the summer. These grid stations included Fazil 132 KV, Kot Momin 132 KV, Bandala 132 KV, Khanwana 132 KV, Ada Gogra 132 KV, Steam Power Station 132 KV, Skarp Colony 132 KV, Shorkot Road 132 KV, New Kalorkot 132 KV and Bhamb 132 KV. He said that modernizing these network stations would significantly improve the system’s ability to distribute electricity and help manage loads more efficiently during peak demand in the summer, ensuring better services are provided to consumers.
The chief engineer also said that the installation and improvement of incoming and outgoing transmission lines at various grid stations have also been completed to make the power transmission network more robust and reliable.
He said that a comprehensive overhaul of the power transformers installed at FESCO network stations had been carried out and C&DF and oil testing had also been successfully completed. He added that contact resistance tests, purity testing, and oil testing were conducted for high-voltage circuit breakers to identify and eliminate any potential technical faults before the onset of heavy load conditions.
He said that capacitors with a total capacity of 31.5 MVA have been installed at various network stations to address voltage fluctuation issues and improve voltage profiles across the network. Capacitors of 7.2 MVA capacity were installed at Kot Momin, Chak No. 430-JB, Chiniot Road and New Calorkot Road stations while 2.4 MVA capacitors were installed at Bandala network station.
Engineer Faisal Reda Marth said that GSO Circle’s technical teams are fully prepared to deal with the expected increase in demand for electricity during the summer, and advance planning has been completed to deal with any emergency.
He added that Visco is using all available resources to ensure stable, safe and high-quality electricity supply to consumers throughout the region.
Supervising Engineer (GSO) Zabda Zia, Zain Ijazaullah, Zain Altaf Kashif, Zain Muhammad Ramadan and Zain Nasrullah were also present on the occasion.
