Dera Ismail Khan (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 5 March 2026) The district police have successfully solved a blind murder case in the limits of Shorkot Police Station and arrested the suspect and the murder weapon.
According to the police spokesperson, a team of Shorkot police led by SHO Shorkot Asghar Khan Wazir conducted the investigation into the murder that took place a few days ago on Dayal Road near Mochi Pul.
During the operation, the police tracked down and arrested the suspect, identified as Sarmad Shafiq, son of Muhammad Shafiq, a resident of Tank and currently living in Asifabad Colony. He was arrested using modern technical and scientific investigation methods, and the alleged murder weapon was found in his possession.
The police said that the suspect confessed to killing Noor Jamal, the son of Noorzad, a resident of South Waziristan, over a dispute involving women.
