51 shop owners were fined Rs 112,000 for profiteering in Shaheed Benazirabad

Hyderabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13 Mar, 2026) On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, the district administration continued its campaign against exploiters on the 23rd day of Ramadan in all four talukas of the district, including Nawabshah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmad and Dour.

The Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtars conducted inspections at various markets, fruit and vegetable shops as well as push cart vendors within their jurisdictions.

According to a circular issued on Friday, fines totaling Rs 112,000 were imposed on 51 shopkeepers exploited during the operations.

In Nawabshah taluka, six shopkeepers were fined Rs 7,000, while in Daur taluka, three shopkeepers were fined Rs 2,000, the bulletin said. In Sakrand taluka, five shopkeepers were fined Rs 3,000, while in Qazi Ahmed taluka fines amounting to Rs 1 lakh were imposed on 37 beneficiaries.

Revenue officials said that such measures will continue on a daily basis during the holy month of Ramadan to provide relief to the public.
