MULTAN (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12 Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) announced that it disposed of about 100 kg of adulterated spices, 120 kg of chili pepper and 150 kg of fake honey during raids carried out in Burwala and Layah.

The crackdown was carried out early Thursday morning based on a tip-off, according to details shared by a PFA spokesperson.

During a raid in Burwala, the team seized around 100 kg of adulterated spices along with well-known brand packing materials from a mill. A case has been filed against the mill owner, Nadeem Niaz. The authorities also confiscated and destroyed a large quantity of adulterated ispagol and custard powder that was packaged under the name of a famous brand.

At the same time, food LIA’s safety team conducted raids in Fatehpur, Ghaziabad and Chowk-e-Azam where 150 kg of fake honey and 120 kg of adulterated chilli were discovered and destroyed on the spot.

Officials said that fake honey is prepared using harmful ingredients, while artificial colors and other substances were found mixed in the chilli.

The Director General of the Food Authority said in a statement that it is unfortunate that the fraud mafia continues to commit such crimes even during the holy month of Ramadan. He pledged that the authority would continue its work without interruption to protect the public from adulterated food.
